Montessori - Animals of Asia 1.2

This application provides a comprehensive exploration of the animals that inhabit Asia. Users will gain insights into the habitat distribution, fascinating facts, and conservation statuses of various species found throughout the continent.

In Lesson #1, the Information Center serves as a primary resource for learners. Users can interact with the photo-strip to select an animal for further exploration. The integrated map function highlights the animal's habitat upon selection, while the speaker button allows for accurate pronunciation of each animal's name. Additionally, a detailed description along with specific dimensions, weight, and conservation information can be accessed via the Definition button. Users will also find a list of conservation definitions for deeper understanding.

Lessons #2 and #3 focus on assembling Asian Habitat maps by identifying animals corresponding to either the displayed habitat or their names. This builds upon the Continent Box activity prevalent in Montessori classrooms.

In the first habitat map lesson, children match animals with the names shown at the top alongside their respective habitats. Upon selecting the correct animal card, a shape representing that animal is placed on the map while its name is audibly pronounced.

The second habitat map lesson increases difficulty by requiring children to identify animals based solely on the displayed habitat. This challenge enhances memorization of animal habitats effectively.

Lesson #4 invites users to drag and place animal shapes onto the map, where they will engage with auditory reinforcement as names are pronounced upon successful placement.

With coverage of 40 different Asian animals, this app promises future expansions through in-app purchases. Developed in collaboration with a Montessori teacher certified by AMI and possessing over forty years of experience in child education, this tool is both educational and engaging.
